You’re reading Try Stuff Energy, a weekly-ish newsletter on how it feels like to put yourself out into the word and well, try stuff, like publishing this newsletter. Written by Caitlin Sowers.
This week I came across Katie Dalebout who was evidently my sister in a past life. Katie has MAJOR #trystuffenergy. Her podcast project LET IT OUT, led me to her LET IT OUT Kit, an amalgamation of her favourite links when she’s feeling off. I took up her invitation to create my own kit. Last week I shared a bit about how I’ve been feeling soooo it feels well timed.
Think of the Try Stuff Energy Kit as a shore to climb up onto, or a buoy to hold onto when it’s too deep and too hard and you’re just too damn tired. Feeling sad is healthy, normal, unavoidable, and will pass (if you allow yourself to feel it). So feel it! ❤️ If you’re feeling good, I love that. Maybe bookmark this for a future cloudy day.
A holiday playlist for anytime of the year, particularly when sad
A poem by Mark Neepo which I remember the exact location where I first heard it because I publicly cried (heavily)

My two favourite songs by Frank Sinatra
My Way “Let the record show I took all the blows and did it my way…”
That’s Life “I thought of quittin’ baby… but my heart just ain’t gonna buy it…”
A poem by Bapu-ji
My beloved child, break your heart no longer.
Each time you judge yourself, you break your own heart;
you stop feeding on the love which is the well-spring of your vitality.
The time is come. Your time to see, to celebrate, to live, to trust the goodness that you are.
Let no one, no thing, no idea or ideal obstruct you.
And if one comes, even the name of truth, forgive it for its unknowing.
Do not fight. Stop the war and let go.
And breathe into the goodness that you are.

An invitation to exactly what is here
In Mahayana Buddhism, the open, wakeful emptiness of awareness is our absolute nature. Our original nature is changeless, unconditioned, timeless, and pure. When we bring this awareness to the reactive world of form, love awakens. We meet the ever-changing stream of life —this living, dying, breathing world — with accepting presence and our hearts invariably open. What our mind recognizes as empty awareness, our hearts experience as love.

A reminder on perspective
The real world is beyond our thoughts and ideas; we see through the net of our desires divided into pleasure and pain, right and wrong, inner and outer. To see the universe as it is, you must step beyond the net. It is not hard to do so, for the net is full of holes.

And lastly, this.
SENDING LOVE. ❤️
Hi 👋, I’m Caitlin Sowers. I started sharing my life online via youtube videos in 2017. I love the art of story telling and am deeply curious about what I can learn by listening to others’ stories as well as sharing my own. As a proud multi-hyphenate I have more interests than I know what to do with.
If you found your way here but aren’t yet subscribed, you should fix that!
Thank you so much for this, Caitlin. Somehow, whatever you write each week or post on your Youtube channel is exactly what I need at that moment. Your content is like a glass of water for my soul xx
Wise words to live by!! Live more than you work!! ❤❤
